Our Business Meeting is scheduled for the first Tuesday of every month and our Social Meeting, on the Third Tuesday of the month. Because of our proximity to the Jacobs Field, we must occasionally change meeting dates, as parking becomes a problem during game events. The dates of the monthly meetings are published in advance in our monthly newsletter, The Cleveland Counselor.
Cleveland Council No. 733, established on December 21, 1902, entered this new millennium with great enthusiasm. We celebrated our 100th Anniversary as a Knights of Columbus Council the year 2002. Our Centennial Banquet was held on Wednesday, October 16, 2002 at the Holiday Inn Select City Centre Lakeshore in downtown Cleveland.
Our Activities as a Christian fraternal organization of Catholic gentlemen include Quarterly Family Corporate Masses at our host church, St. John the Evangelist Cathedral in Downtown Cleveland, TV Masses for Shut-Ins, Memorial Mass and Commemorative Services, Annual Clergy Night and Annual Nuns, Ladies, Knight Out, and District Corporate Masses and Breakfasts.
We participate in all The All-Ohio Charity Campaign, Aluminum Can Drives, The Ohio State Free Throw Contest, and the Measure-Up Campaign for the Mentally Retarded.
Our social activities include River Boat Rides, Trolley Rides, Train Rides, Annual Picnic, Family Breakfasts, Past Grand Knight Appreciation Dinners, Annual Oktoberfest, and an Annual Christmas Party for Adults and Children.
Our Charitable efforts through the Council include the Matching Funds State Program as well as support for vocations through the Pennies for Heaven and the RSVP Program.
The Bulk of our charitable works are given through the Downtown Catholic Club,
a Trust Fund for Cleveland Council 733 and administered by a board of trustees
who are members of the Cleveland Council. Since 2000, The Downtown Catholic
Club has distributed over $190,000.00.
